Confortable Seating Capacity
The description says seating capacity 8 but the photographs show 6 only. Can 8 people set comfortably with the legs not bothered by the table base?
8 can comfortably fit. I have the bench and 5 chairs

The whole table is very dark brown. No areas are black despite the description.

Can the stain be stripped?
I purchased it based on it being my desired style, but not color. Being described as hardwood, I planned to strip it and sand to apply a lighter finish. Now that I have it, I feel unsure that is possible...is it your opinion it is safe to sand and stain in my preferred color?

The Pierce Black Dining Table is made with Asian Hardwood and Oak Veneers. The veneers are wire brushed.

Overall, the quality is nice for the price tag. Super easy to style because it's relatively plain and I love the legs! It adds something interesting to the design.

I was gently swishing a cup of tea and now there are scratch marks! See photo. It's a shame that I have to use a tablecloth and/or placemats to protect the table. I don't mind using tablecloths/placemats, but I am fearful of when Covid-19 is over and I have guests for a party. I do not want to be one of those crazy people forcing everyone to use coasters to avoid having the table get scratched up like Leo DiCaprio in The Revenant.

The table is advertised as black online. However, it's more of a dark brown color. Regardless we still love it. The table is well made and easy to assemble. Plus the price is unbeatable!
